I love Chicken Soup for the Soul books. In fact, I have shared quite a few reviews of some of the titles right here on this blog. Every single Chicken Soup for the Soul book has been inspirational to me in some way.

With Mother's Day fast approaching, what better gift could you give her, than something to inspire her and show her just how much she means to you. Today I am going to share with you 2 titles that would be perfect for her.

Throughout time, women have shared their joys and sorrows, thoughts and feelings, experiences and life lessons with one another. The tradition continues in Chicken Soup for the Soul: Devotional Stories for Women with 101 stories of friendship, faith, and comfort that affirm God's unconditional love and His wisdom. Women will find encouragement, solace, and strength in these personal stories and prayers that cover everyday trials to tests of faith, to marriage and parenting, to service to others and self-esteem.

Just reading the forward in this book brought tears to my eyes. I actually had to stop after that story and quit reading for a bit. This woman's strength was so encouraging, but at the same time what she went through was just such a horrible ordeal.

I flipped through to Chapter 9 - Service to Others and right on that very page was one of the truest quotes ever. The world would be a much better place if everyone believed in at least the friendship aspect, if not in God himself.

A mother's job is never done, but in Thanks Mom, she gets the praise she deserves. Children of all ages share their words of gratitude and appreciation in this new collection of stories for moms. Thanks Mom is definitely inspirational, but in quite a different way to me. I am not all that close with my mother. Now before you go off thinking I am a horrible child, think again. You do not know the history. I try my hardest to love my mom, and I do in my own way. But I have never had a real mother/daughter relationship with her and that is no fault of my own, just hers alone. Ask every one of my siblings and they will tell you the exact same thing.

Enough with my life story, the whole point is that I hope that I can be all of these things to my kids. I hope that some day, they would write something like this to me, thanking me for everything I do, everything I give up and for all the love I have given them.
