This weeks feature is with Didi from Hand Arts. Hand Arts is a place for unique handmade jewelry created with happy, colorful and specially selected pieces from all over the world.

Tell us your name and a little about yourself.
My name is Didi, 29 yrs old and coming from Eastern Europe, Bulgaria. Currently live in beautiful Louisiana with my husband of 4 years.
What led you to start making the things you do, and how long have you been doing this?
I'm coming from a family of craftsmen and arts were always part of my growing up. At 7 years I won an International competition with a hand made rose pendant and since then never really stopped creating.
What inspires you most?
Nature. Love taking long walks in the park right behind my neighborhood, then go home, have a cold glass of orange juice and start working :)
Tell us one of the most memorable things while creating or selling your art/craft.
Found online for a craft show, packed all of my inventory at the time /about 200 pieces/ and left....get there happy...not even knowing that this show was for collection coins...after 30 min of pale uncomfortable feeling started making friends and sold most of my creations by the end of the day. In fact that was the best show I ever went to.
Do you have any advice for other artists/crafters?
Not to give up hope. Believe in yourself, no matter how different you are there is always going to be public and appreciation for the creative artist. Smile a lot :)
You can find Didi here at Hand Arts on Etsy.
