When I found out about this product I told my husband and he looked at me with tremendous skepticism. I don?t blame him- I am completely without patience for dealing with photo manipulation on the computer. I am notorious for getting frustrated simply trying to re size a picture in order to sell something on Craigslist. So, it’s no surprise that we have a million pictures that remain in limbo–unprinted on the camera card or in some file on the desktop. Recently, however, I have found something that even I can figure out. Shape Collage is a program that might actually help remove SOME of the mom guilt and get these pictures seen. Mom guilt. Ah yes.
I need to first disclose that I am not a big fan of computer programs with complicated features and functions that I don?t need. I do not have the time to tweak things here and there, nor do I want to. What I want is something that will be quick, and EASY and display my pictures without too much effort on my part. I don?t have time to get extremely technical. I have a toddler treating me like a jungle gym and two almost four month olds chirping at me left and right. If I want to get some pictures together- I need to do it easily and practically with as much (or as little) personal creativity that I can muster.
Shape Photo Collage takes your pictures and makes them into just that–a shaped collage. It can be any kind of shape or letter- there are templates at your disposal as well as an option to draw your shape/letter/ etc yourself. You select the photos you want in a collage, a few clicks, and voila! You have made your collage! I have to admit, I was pretty surprised at how easy this program was to use and how neat the outcome could be.
There are a few different ways you can play around with this program for free, but you will soon find that buying the Pro version (at a very affordable $25) will allow you to do much more with it- and even use it in conjunction with Photo Shop. You really need to go to their website and see how easy it is to use for yourself. There is even a super quick video tutorial that goes a wee bit fast, but you can always watch it again. It will take you step by step on how to create your shaped collage.
I made a heart collage in minutes with the pics from the day the twins were born.
I even printed it out on our home printer! True I didn?t have the right sized photo paper in there, but for me it was a total accomplishment to make it that far. I really look forward to using this program in the future- and create some pretty neat printout cards for friends and family. I think this is one photo program that ANYONE can use and have fun with.
Shape Collage is free, but you can upgrade to Shape Collage Pro for as little as $25!
