Donation Honor Roll

I would like to invite everyone to particiape in a new weekly feauture I have on Become A Coupon Queen called the Donation Honor Roll. You can read all about it below.

I am blessed in so many ways. I have an amazing husband who stays by my side for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health. We have experienced all of it. I have grown to learn that the hard times make us stronger and it makes us truly appreciate the good times.

I also feel very blessed that I have the knowledge of how to use coupons to provide for me and my family for a fraction of what most families spend. Every week I am able to get at least a couple items for free. Often times these are items that I don't need or won't use. What do I do with these items? I donate them. How many times have there been items you could have gotten for free but you passed up because you just didn't need it?

I am calling on my readers to do something for others by starting a donation box and each week take at least 2 items you get and put it in that donation box. If you can get something such as depends for free but you don't need it, get it anyways and put it in your box! Not only will you be helping others within your community but this also is a great tax write off. If you are anything like my husband and I, we need all of the tax write-offs we can get. Before you know it you will have a big box of stuff to donate. You will feel great doing it and before you know it you will be actively searching for donation items to acquire.

Get your kids involved too. Take them with you to the donation center to drop the stuff off. Kindness and generosity are traits we should strive to instill in our children. I also believe the charities with the greatest impact comes from the local grass roots efforts.

So what is the Honor Roll you ask? Each Sunday I will start a new post for the week called the "Donation Honor Roll". Throughout the week I want readers to leave a comment on what items they have put in their donation box and then at the end of the week I will choose a comment using random.org to give away a prize!
