Although there are 60 titles in ebook complete with teaching activities, I chose to review the titles “Big Cat, Little Kitty” and “Meet the Planets” in hardcover so that I might sit with my son who isn’t of an age to be interactive on the internet. The first thing that struck me when receiving these titles was how bright and vivid the books were. They are beautifully bound and abundant in illustrations; very striking which is something that my toddler picked up on immediately as all children love colorful storybooks. However, once I began to read the books I realized how fantastic they would be for my older son. My toddler loved to hear the stories but the tools they offer at the end of each book were more appropriate for school age. As my eldest son is a huge lover of cats he was excited to read about how cats were related and to try to match the different cats to their geographic locations. His most favorite thing was the information it gave on cat senses and for the rest of the day he tried to utilize this information by observing his cat Riley. In short these books became a wonderful addition for both of my children at their very different age groups.
These books would best finds their homes in the arms of teachers, home-school and public, for parents who wish to broaden the education of their children in certain subjects with a more attractive approach and for the little ones growing to learn. Knowledge is one of the most precious gifts we can give to our children and Sylvan Dell Publishing has made it creatively unique in it’s packaging.
