On July 26th Shout Factory! in collaboration with Hasbro Inc. released Conan the Adventurer: Season One in a 2-DVD Set, featuring all 13 episodes and the legendary character himself! I actually watched Conan the Adventurer in the early 1990s. I loved it then as I love it now. Watching it had brought so many wonderful memories back as well as new ones by being able to share it with my sons.
Conan the Adventurer has great morality, unlike most of the comics, it teaches children right from wrong and how to be respectable. The violence in the show is reduced and Conan is seen as a compassionate character that stands up for his friends and what he believes in. Unlike many cartoons these days, our classic cartoons strike a familiar sense of wholesomeness and Conan the Adventurer is a perfect example of a great cartoon for Families and kids of all ages.
It is also a wonderful DVD to pick up if you are like me and wanting to share something that was special to you growing up with your children. It’s wonderful to see it come out on DVD and relive once-upon-a-time mornings where the world was still and it truly felt as though it came alive in bright technicolor. Hopefully Shout Factory! will release the next series of episodes of Conan the Adventures! Until then… this is absolutely a DVD that you do not want to miss out on.
