Summertime is all about getting outdoors and spending time with family and friends. Our grill definitely gets more than it’s fair share of use this time of year. Almost every meal revolves around that grill and the Johnsonville brand is well known to it. Lucky for me, The Man is a grill master and I never have to touch it!
Johnsonville recently came out with their famous pork Bratwurst and Italian Sausage in patty form. It’s the same great taste, but it looks like a burger instead! These are available at Walmart in the frozen burger section!
My family had a chance to try them out this past week and I was excited to hear their reactions. Of course they were all good and everyone really enjoyed the Italian Sausage patties that The Man grilled up!

Of course I came up with my own little recipe twist. With 5 kids in this house, nobody’s taste buds are the same. So I just chopped some stuff up and put it on a plate so they could all make their Italian Sausage patty to their liking!
There’s no special way to make this. Just cook the patties as you normally would. While cooking, get out that cutting board and start chopping!
Suggested toppings:
- Pepperjack and Cheddar Cheeses
- Lettuce
- Tomato
- Onion
- Sliced Jalapeno Peppers
- Sliced Mild Peppers
- Mushrooms
- Pickle Relish
- Sauerkraut
Of course, don’t forget the ketchup and mustard!
