Carlito C Caterpillar's Math House Games Review and Giveaway {CLOSED}

Pin It
The Carlito C. Caterpillar MathHouseTM Sensory Math Teaching System was developed by Domenico Marcario, M.S. He is a retired High School Math Teacher and a devoted grandfather.

This product is a set of 20 games (all on cards held together by a ring- so no losing one because it doesn't get put back in a box...a huge plus in this crazy, kid filled house) that build a child's knowledge of math concepts through manipulative play. Each game has the child physically grouping or moving cards, objects, etc in order to learn a new mathematical concept. It begins with the simple concept of identifying a set of like objects and progresses to basic multiplication and division concepts.

I particularly like that each card tells you the What, Why and How of the game. You will need to either gather objects from your home, or print simple manipulatives from the company website ( c3pla.com )to perform each game.

I really like the focus on play in teaching math. Math can be such an overwhelming concept when children are expected to memorize facts, but when they can learn through games they are more likely to enjoy learning.

As a mom to a preschooler, I look forward to continuing to use the Carlito C. Caterpillar Math House Games as I help him learn the basics of math (I will also likely use them for my Kindergartner as well)!

You can purchase your own Carlito C Caterpillar Math House Games for 23.95 (including free shipping) directly from the company via their website.

One lucky winner will receive their own set, you can enter by using the rafflecopter form below. Please remember that you MUST leave the indicated blog post comment in order to win.

I like that you can spend time with your child and help him learn with the math cards and that they introduce these math concepts in the early years.

I like the concept and that the game is portable, on a ring, and can use your own manipulatives-less things to lose. But there really isn't a good explanation of the game on their website, I learned more from your review than was accessible on the website unless I was missing something. silenttributary at yahoo dot com

The knowledge learned through them is retained because it is learned using sensory activities and I forgot the rest but very believable to me!

I learned that Early childhood development professionals note that young children are most open to learning when they play

I like that they're incorporating technology into learning (like the iPod app). It's true that kids learn best when they think it's a game, and all kids love playing with their parents' iPhones.

I learned from their website that is important not to tell your children they are doing "math". Carlito C Caterpillar's Math House Games makes math a game, so children can learn and have fun!
