What could be better than a delightful bowl of pasta with bacon in it? I have always loved Fettuccine Carbonara, it’s one of my favorite dishes. It’s also incredibly easy to make! You could have a nice gourmet meal with a slice of Italian bread drizzled with garlic butter and a glass of wine within 30 minutes. Incredibly delicious. Many thanks to Flipflop Wines for supplying the perfectly paired Chardonnay.
Fettuccine Carbonara
Ingredients
- Fettuccine Noodles (1box or 1lb)
- 1 1/4 cups of Heavy Whip
- 1/2 cup of Parmesan Cheese
- 4-8 Slices of Cooked Bacon (depends on thickness)
- 4 Eggs
Directions
Â
- Bring a pot of lightly salted water to boil. Once the water is boiling, add the Fettuccine Noodles.
- Whisk Eggs, Heavy Whip and Parmesan Cheese and add to a pot on low heat. Continue whisking until the mixture warms and crumble your Cooked Bacon into the pot. DO NOT let it sit or boil, otherwise the egg will cook in the mixture and create crumbles. This is why you should cook your bacon before you start, not during. Add Pepper & Salt to taste.
- Once the cream is hot and the Fettuccine Noodles are done, mix them both together.
- Toss your Fettuccine Carbonara on a plate, top with a little extra Parmesan Cheese and Viola!
If you’d like a nice garlic bread you can pick up a loaf of Italian bread from your local supermarket, slice it down the middle and set it on a baking sheet. Take 1/4 cup of softened butter, two minced cloves of garlic and a 1/2 tbsp of salt – mix them together and spread on the opened loaves of bread. Bake until it is golden brown at the top and slice as desired. The perfect addition to a delicious plate of pasta.
