It should be no surprise by now that my girls were thrilled when we “cozied” down and watched Strawberry Shortcake and her friends. This is not the “classic” Strawberry Shortcake, but more like a new “modern” one. The focus is busy career GIRLS(!) that must work together in order to accomplish their dreams. As a working mom, I loved this DVD.
I ABSOLUTELY loved how Ginger Snap did not give up on her dreams despite Peppermint Fizz’s comments that she can’t be an astronuat. Ginger falls asleep and dreams of building a rocket and taking all her friends on a ride to outer space. When she wakes, she realizes it was just a dream. Strawberry Shortcake and Ginger Snap make a deal never to give up on their dreams.
When Peppermint Fizz becomes Mayor, she is very bossy and doesn’t talk to her friends very nicely. Strawberry tells Peppermint that being a Leader is getting everyone working together, not telling them to work. Peppermint leads the others to save Strawberry Land from berry bugs.
I think this DVD has great messages all through it. I am a big fan of movies and shows that promote positive behavior/thinking. My girls more than understood the messages and it was a fun way to enjoy an evening . Go out and buy it today and snuggle with your kids tonight. Enjoy the wonderful, positive messages all through out!
