Valentine’s Day isn’t only a day to share with our significant others, it is also day we choose to say to those that we appreciate that they are thought of – they matter. A day when we don’t mind sharing a little bit of chocolates with our little ones and watch their flushed excitement turn into a sugar rush. It’s a moment out of the whole year to wear our hearts on our sleeves, to open our smiles and consideration and to shower those we admire with care.
Hallmark has been around since the early 1900s and their Gold Seal has sealed billions of cards over the years. There is something special about opening a Hallmark card, a pleased feeling that accompanies the breaking of that gold seal that one can’t quite put their finger on. Although, I’m sure we’ve all felt that way when we stop to think about it. Hallmark doesn’t only make the best cards on the market, they also provide over 48,000 products at any given time and for this Valentine’s they put together something special to show our admiration to those we care so much about. In doing this review I realized how much these Valentine’s Day Care Packages would matter to those we care about that happen to not be with us on February 14th; whether family at a distance or a soldier overseas, the first of them being a recordable storybook about Love.
There are many new titles in Hallmark’s line of Recordable Storybooks, this is one of their newest. Under the Same Moon is a story about how love transcends time and distance. Reading this story to my youngest I realized how much this book would matter to a grandparent, family far away or a loved one over seas. It’s illustrations are captivating and the story is just as dreamy as the blue hue that decorates the cover.

It is taking us awhile, as I have a toddler that doesn’t like to stay put, but we’re recording the story bit by bit for my children’s great-gramma who we don’t get to see very often.
The Blooming Expressions flower is something new from Hallmark and is very attractive for kids and parents alike. I believe I had to open and close the flower a few dozen times for my tot who clapped with glee every time it moved. There is a garden of Blooming Expressions at Hallmark, all of them as delightfully surprising as the one in this video. They open to a card that says “I Love You” or “There’s Only One You” and they are very beautiful. A perfect gift for a Mother or Grandmother, especially from children who love nothing more than to teach you how to work it. It’s also a year-round gift that can sit out on the table or a window sill without ever growing old.

I’ve always appreciated the fact that I was able to walk into a Hallmark (or shop online) and find cards for members of my family that other places don’t consider sometimes, like my Step-Father who means a lot to me.
