I’m not going to lie, this first post doesn’t promise much excitement but it will give you a glimpse into what my world is like and help you get to know myself and my family.
First things first, I am a mom of 4 kids.
Yes, 4 of them.
I have 2 Bigs and I also have 2 Littles.
My Bigs are 13 and 11.
My Littles are just shy of 4 and almost 3 months.
Years ago, it was just me and the Bigs.
I was a single mom just trying to survive every day by providing a good life for my kids the best I could. I worked a lot and unfortunately because of my situation I was not able to enjoy their ‘little’ years. When my oldest, Zack, was six years old I had decided that he and my other Big, Libby, would be my only children.
Yes, I was 26 and had officially decided I was done having kids, never getting married and was still going to have my who life ahead of me since they would both be out of high school and off to college by my 40th birthday.
That was 2005.
Fast forward to 2006 when I meet an amazing man ( Alex), fall madly in love, get engaged, get pregnant, get married and BOOM…..there I was…..having another baby!
Welcome Xander.
That was 2008.
Things were different this time around, not only did I have a partner to share in the responsibility of parenting but I was also able to stay home with my little boy and I have been home with him since.
After Xander’s birth I said I was done having babies. I wanted to be able to be a mom but know that I would still have plenty of time to spend with my husband after the kids were grown, married and we were grandparents.
Xander will be turning 4 on March 10th and well, now I have an infant too.
Yes, somehow (in a moment of weakness) I decided that I wanted just one more child.
So the minute we got Xander out of diapers, we were welcoming our little Ellie to the world.
Now here I am, the mom of four.
2 Bigs.
2 Littles.
By the time my Littles graduate from high school, my Bigs could be making me a grandmother.
I’m just the mom trying to survive in the middle of all the diapers and donuts.
I hope you will stick around and check back with me each month as I try to adjust and get back into the swing of things of having a baby in the house once again along with an extremely active preschooler, a tween and a teen.
Welcome to my crazy world!
Annie
