I am a “girly-girl” and believe in bright clothes, feminine cuts, and I’d live in poofy dresses if I weren’t a mom. (I’m in jeans and a tee most days, almost as nice!) So, when I had my son, I had no idea how one dimensional boy clothes really were. Bugs, trucks, and all in one type of cut. I would look forlornly over to the girls section and wish I could loose myself in the frills, lace, and the poofy-poof of a little girly-girls dreams. So, I was very excited to hear about Hank Player U.S.A. and their line of fun, easy to wear, great looking boys tees.
Sonshine received two fun short sleeve tees to try out. I simply gave them his size and waited to see what they surprised us with! I was pleasantly amazed at how soft the tees were right out of the bag. They had a worn-in look, but still had bright colors. This is due to the vintage processing they use on their 100% Pima cotton garments. Due to the way the tees are dyed and printed, there is a natural variation to coloring from one tee to the next. It’s like getting a one of a kind shirt each time you purchase!
Not knowing which shirts they were going to send us was like waiting to see what grandma sent us for a gift! Things can always be hit or miss; and with these shirts, it didn’t matter which was sent, I knew it was going to be a hit! But, when I ripped into the bag, I was amazed at the “home-run” they hit, truly, I thought they were stalking us! Unfortunately, I have not been able to get a great shot of the baseball tee sent to us, but it’s a grey-heather color with a large baseball on the front. Sonshine can tell us that it’s a baseball, but, he’s been worried about the “dirt” on the bottom of the ball and right now refuses to put the shirt on. Silly kid.
The other shirt is probably his most favorite shirt right now. In fact, he’s been sitting next to me holding on to it and pointing out everything on it! The Boarding School is on a baby blue tee featuring an old school VW bus and prominently displays a surfer shredding a big wave! Sonshine definitely? has a natural surfer/beach look going, so it was no surprise he just loves his “beach” shirt.
I love how incredibly soft both of his tees are. Each time I wash them, they just feel more worn in and Sonshine feels comfortable in them. They also have survived chocolate milk spills, unlike most of his other tees. Not one stain has set yet and that makes mommy happy! Also, we got a size down from Sonshine’s “true” size and the tees fit great with just enough room to grow into them during the course of the summer. I recommend double checking their sizing chart for an accurate fit!
