As a practicing pediatrician and assistant professor of pediatrics, Dr. Ray Wagner saw the effects of baby bottle tooth decay first hand. As a mom of 4, I worry a great deal about my children’s dental hygiene. I’ve never sent my children to bed with a bottle or a sippy cup however I do co-sleep with my infant daughter who nurses on demand and did so with my now 4 year old as well. Both of my little ones have been known to nurse themselves to sleep throughout the night and I am always worried about what can happen to not just their teeth but their gums as well.

My little man, Xander, has become a big fan of brushing his teeth (meaning he likes to eat the toothpaste more than anything). My biggest concern with him is that he’s just not getting them clean enough and that he will have plaque buildup. He recently started using Spiffies I Can Brush tooth brushing solution and has been scrubbing his teeth more since it is grape flavored and he only likes to eat things that are bubblegum flavored.

Xander has been using this for about a week now and I can ACTUALLY see that his teeth are cleaner than they are when he normally brushes them and there is no yellow residue left on his teeth. (I did try to take a nice picture of him smiling to share with you, but he’s 4 and has decided he no longer wants his picture taken).

As far as my sweet little Ellie, the 3 month old, I have started using Spiffies Baby Tooth Wipes to clean her gums as well as soothe them now that she is teething. She LOVES these wipes because they come in both Apple and Grape flavor so it is a whole new experience for her!

I love that the wipes allow me to both cleanse her mouth and allow her some relief from the pain of teething at the same time.
