Char Crust Review, Giveaway, & Amazin' Cajun Chicken Recipe - Springing Into Summer Fun {CLOSED}

Pin It
Spring is in the air and you know what that means. We finally get to have some fun in the sun! Of course, we're celebrating bloggy style! Join us all Spring and Summer long for some great product finds for these awesome seasons. Of course we'll have tons of great prizes for you to win too so make sure to subscribe to our blog to stay in the loop!
We created our first Char Crust® in 1957 at our family’s fine Chicago steakhouse, Al Farber’s. Every steak we served was the best prime meat, dry-aged in our coolers. And every steak was seared to juicy perfection with our signature Char Crust® dry-rub seasoning. Now you can create the magic of those times and those flavors, just by using our rubs. Simply dredge or rub on any protein, then broil, bake, grill, or sauté. It’s that easy! Remember, only Char Crust® Seals in the Juices!®
It's official. In less than two months, it will be summer! And, do you know what that means? It'll officially be grilling season! Can you tell I'm just a little excited? We had a few unseasonably warm days around here (now it's cold again!) and I became accustomed to dinner from the grill. I started to realize though, we were going to get sick of the same old seasoned chicken, burgers, and on a very lucky day, steaks! In fact, I'm really tired of the same old, same old I bake in the oven as well. I've found a new great helper in my kitchen though!

Char Crust is a line of dry seasoning rubs to help you perfect your protein or even side dishes! They are simple to use and help spice up a meal, regardless of the time of year or even weather outside! It all started in 1957 at the legendary restaurant, Al Farber's Steakhouse in Chicago's Belden Stratford Hotel. Customer's would come from all over the country just to enjoy the perfect balance of seared outside and juicy inside to any entree the had. Eventually, the restaurant would close, but the demand for the Char Crust seasonings rose and in 1977 the line boomed. In 1998 the line would have another boom and add three more flavors, each one a big hit!

I had the pleasure of receiving four out of the nine flavors offered. The Amazin' Cajun is my husband's favorite so far. It has all the sweetness and spice of Louisiana in a single bite. I'm a little sensitive to heat, so this had me in tears, but they were well worth it. I sauteed chicken sausage with the seasoning and served it over a layer of pasta, sprinkled with some parmesan cheese. The next most used one in our house is the All American BBQ. I'm not sure how, but they managed to combine and harmonize all the great aspect of barbeque from Memphis, Kansas, Texas, and the Carolinas. I'm a Carolina girl, so, I'm partial to the sweet twang of a vinegar BBQ, but these all blend together so well, creating a smokey, tangy, sweet, and spicy rub, you'll have to pardon the expression, "You'll smack your mama!" That's how good this rub is. (It's a southern thing!) We use this in and on burgers! We also received their best selling Roasted Garlic Peppercon which boasts a "crescendo of flavors" and the Ginger Teriyaki. I've yet to try the last two, but they sit, anxiously awaiting use in my cabinet!

Here is the recipe to make an Amazin' Cajun Oven Roasted Chicken Breasts.

Amazin' Cajun Oven Roasted Chicken Recipe

Ingredients

Directions
  1. Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees
  2. Trim excess fat off of clean chicken
  3.  Evenly coat entire chicken breast (I did this by hand, but you can also put chicken and rub in a baggie and shake)
  4. Drizzle oil over chicken
  5. In a heated pan, sear both sides of chicken, about 2 minutes
  6. Transfer chicken to a baking dish or sheet
  7. Bake in oven for 35-45 minutes
  8. Chicken is done when internal temperature reaches 160 degrees or juices run clear when pierced
  9. Enjoy!
