Thoughtful Food, Inc. Giddy Up & Go Granola Review – Springing Into Summer Fun

It is amazing how much your world changes as a parents. You start to notice things you may not have before, or care about things that you probably should have beforehand. One of those for me has been the labels on the food we eat. My son has been very picky about what he eats since his first bite of mashed up bananas. And I could lie and say I don’t ever feed him ‘junk food’, but my pants might catch on fire. But, I do strive to make each snack and definitely each meal, something healthy and beneficial to his growing body.

Giddy Up & Go Granola from Thoughtful Food? is probably one of the best granolas I’ve come across. Sonshine and I both love the crunchy and sometimes sweet food. My favorite part of going to a grocery store up in New York was the ability to buy small batches of different tasting granola to satisfy his sweet tooth and add an element to our yogurt. If I had known about Giddy Up & Go then, I probably would have skipped the bulk section and just grabbed a bag or two each shopping trip! 

Available in two flavors, Seriously Seedy and Notoriously Nutty, both are USDA Organic certified, Certified Gluten-Free, Vegan, and Dairy-Free! Wait, come back! Don’t let those words scare you! These granolas are jam packed full of flavor, texture, and protein! Along with healthy fat and low in sugar thanks to the organic agave nectar, these granolas are great for almost everybody! (I would just be slightly wary of anyone with a nut allergy as both are made in a facility that processes almonds, pecans, and walnuts. Although the Seriously Seedy states it’s safe for those with nut allergies, I would still serve at your discretion.)

Sonshine’s favorite flavor is “both”, but I know he devoured the Seriously Seedy down first. (He’s currently working on the other flavor as I type, making very audible ‘mmm’ sounds!) I didn’t even get a bite of it! It smelled wonderful though, like sunflower seeds and the sweetness of sunshine. I threw this flavor in our going-out bag for the park or car rides and he munched on a few handfuls each time we were out. I really enjoy the Notoriously Nutty myself. Every time I open the bag, the smell just brings a smile to my face, it smells like hot out of the oven cinnamon-raisin bread!  And it tastes as good as it smells. The perfect mid-afternoon pick me up!
