One of my biggest concerns about being a mom when I was pregnant with my first was breastfeeding. I had read all the literature and went to all the breastfeeding classes but it is just one of those things you don't really understand unless you have actually done it. What I quickly learned is breastfeeding can be HARD. That first gulp that Big Sis chomped down moments after she was born hurt and it hurt a lot. I had seen all those cutesty pictures of moms breastfeeding and I was told time and time again that it does not hurt when it was done right. So I immediately thought I was doing it wrong. After much research I realized that My nipples had never been put under such hard suction from little gums before and a visit with a lactation consultant and some general time and we were having a great breastfeeding relationship.
A new mom in doubt can really benefit from a website full of information and Baby Gooroo has just that.

Breastfeeding is just one of those things that I am passionate about. I don't judge others but for me it was what I wanted to do. Baby Gooroo offers so much information but in an easy way for any mom to understand. I also love how clean the site is and how easy it is to navigate. It is a great tool for moms to use no matter how many kids they have.
Thes burp cloths and bibs have the cutest little sayings on them. Like "Mom's milk is a bear necessity." They also have little tags with nursing facts from the animal kingdom. I will definitely be keeping the ones I got to put into my daughter's quilt I am having made someday. It is so hard to find cute baby items with breastfeeing humor on them. These are super soft and way cuter than the standard run of the mill burp cloths that seem to all be the same. I have washed mine several times so far and it still looks like new and I think it is actually getting softer with each wash.

There is so much info about a lot of different topics on this site, from binkies to breastfeeding, I will have to refer my friends who are having babies here, just wish this tech & info was around when I started having kids 20 yrs ago

I learned The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first six months of life, followed by breastfeeding in conjunction with other foods “for at least the first year of life and beyond for as long as mutually desired by mother and child.” According to the AAP, “increased duration of breastfeeding confers significant health and developmental benefits for the child and mother.” These benefits don’t end with your baby’s first birthday!

You can be sure your baby is getting enough to eat if your baby has at least one stool a day on days 1 and 2 and three or more stools a day by day 3. A stool is a stain at least the size of your baby’s fist or at least 1 teaspoon of solid material. The color of your baby’s stool is just as telling as the number of stools. Your baby’s stool should be black on days 1 and 2, green on days 3 and 4, and yellow by day 5.

In 10 Breastfeeding Myths, I learned that pain during breastfeeding is not normal after the beginning of feeding and could mean there is a poor latch
