We love 8 O' Clock coffee in our house. It's all we buy! I stock up when my grocery store puts it on sale, and we have quite a stash (it will be gone by the time it is on sale again!)
I was thrilled when I found out that EOC was making K-Cup packs for Keurig brewers. I've had a few single cup coffee makers over the years, but never liked the coffee. My husband got me a Keurig Mini a few years ago, and it was almost immediately relegated to the dusty corner of a cabinet. Even using extra-bold, dark K-Cups, I couldn't find anything that tasted as good as my EOC French roast whole bean!
I like my coffee dark so I sampled the Dark Italian Roast K-cups, and sent the rest with my husband to work. Eight O'Clock has some super yummy looking holiday recipes on their Facebook page, but alas, I didn't have the right ingredients, and I couldn't wait to try the K-Cups!
I put a handful of mini marshmallows, a small square of coffee flavored dark chocolate, and a drizzle of caramel ice cream topping in my cup, then brewed.
Ho-hum, waiting, waiting...
Yes! Finally, a great-tasting, dark K-cup! Granted, it's not as good as my whole bean, Eight O'Clock French Roast, made in my Capresso grind & brew coffeemaker, but it is literally the first cup of Keurig coffee I've actually enjoyed.
The Italian roast is dark enough to make an 8 oz cup, and it was also tasty with just a dab of creamer & some sugar. Boo-hoo sniff, it looks like the K-Cups come in original, Columbian, Hazelnut & Italian - no French roast - but I will definitely be buying more Italian dark roast K-cups!
