Winter Wishes - Sandzini from Ohio Art Review & Giveaway!

Sandzini is a really fun and new creative art compound made from Ohio Art, the same company that brought us the Etch A Sketch! Outside of the little fun packs you can purchase, there are three Creator Sets: The T-Rex Sculpting Kit, Pony Sculpting Kit and the Ice Cream Parlor, which we got to review!

The compound is different from other molding compounds as it has a very sandy texture to it and an almost glittered appearance. When you first get your kit you will want to work the Sandzini in your hand for awhile to loosen it up, afterward it is really easy to mold and have fun with!

I will say that the texture is interesting, but not unpleasant  It reminds me of playing in the cool damp sand when I was a child. The great thing about the compound is that it allows you to cut out very distinct straight lines that keep together. This is perfect when you are trying to make models.

It also comes with instructions on how to build what is in the Creator set, so you won't get lost. Once it starts to catch the air and dry, it hardens to keep its shape; which is especially good if you are purchasing the T-Rex or the Pony kit.

My son gets a real big kick out of Sandzini. I wasn't sure what he would think since he has some sensory issues with textures, but he dug right in and started rolling the compound and being fascinated with the fact that it sparkles!

I also wanted to mention another product by Ohio Art called Nanoblocks, these are certainly for older kids since they have very tiny pieces, but they look like so much fun!





I saw them at Target the other day and thought that some of them would make really great stocking stuffers since the boxes are smaller! You can pick up the Sandzini at Michaels and Nanoblocks (and many other products from Ohio Art) at your local shopping centers, so for those of you still Christmas Shopping like me!
