Yo Gabba Gabba! and DHX Media Introduce
Yo Gabba Gabba! Hello Friends! App for Preschoolers
Available Now for iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch and Google Android Devices at
iTunes and Google Play
DHX Media, a leading international producer and distributor of television programming and interactive content with the world’s largest independent library of children’s entertainment, and Yo Gabba Gabba!, the award-winning, live-action television series and live stage show whose unconventional formula has created a triple stacked fan base, making it one of the most popular entertainment properties among preschoolers, parents and indie music lovers alike, today announced the launch of the new Yo Gabba Gabba! Hello Friends! preschool app for the iPhone, the iPad, the iPod Touch and Google Android devices. Yo Gabba Gabba!, created by Christian Jacobs and Scott Schultz, launched on Nickelodeon in 2007. The newly released Yo Gabba Gabba! Hello Friends! app offers a whole new way for today’s generation of preschoolers to interact with their favorite cast of colorful characters for early learning fun across a varied range of easy-to-play games and activities. Kids will enjoy talking to Brobee, Foofa, Muno, Plex and Toodee; dressing up the characters and DJ Lance Rock; playing games that incentivize players to collect virtual stickers to use in the dress up interactive feature, and watching their favorite live action and animated segments from the television series, including “Cool Tricks,” “Dancey Dance,” “Story Time” and “Super Music Friends Show.”

Before I go into my review of the app please be advised that we are HUGE Yo Gabba Gabba fans in our house. Probably more so than the average Yo Gabba Gabba fan. We have tons of Yo Gabba Gabba merchandise and have done YGG birthday parties. Any show that has an episode to remind you "don't bite your friends" is a show worth watching. I think it is just a fun show for the whole family.

I have reviewed the version for my iphone 5 so I am unsure how it would look on another device.

As soon as I opened up the app the home screen looked like the picture above. The person holding the device is the center of the screen. That is a screen shot with Big Sis making a funny face.

Big Sis is 4 years old and completely able to play around with all the functions despite not having the ability to read. There are 4 categories: Friends (where it acts like the characters are talking to your child), Games, Photos and Videos. Her favorite part was playing the game with Brobee. Below is a screen shot of her playing.

You just rotate the iphone back and forth to get him to move back and forth and to jump upwards on each bar. Super easy game and fun for her to play. The game is short much like my preschooler's attention span. There is also a game with Muno where you have him jump which is also fun. It also looked like there was a future game in the works.

Another aspect we enjoyed was dressing up the characters. Screen shot of Big Sis's picture is below.

The last categories is videos. You can watch small clips from the show like cool tricks and songs.

Overall this is a great App for preschoolers. We have several apps on our phone and she only gets to play them in the car or when we are waiting for our food at a restaurant. This one offers a lot of content and stuff to keep her entertained. Big Sis gives it 2 thumbs up!

This Yo Gabba Gabba Hello Friends app that came out is perfect timing as the Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE!: Get the Sillies Out! tour is in full swing. I plan on attending when it comes to town and reviewing it here for you readers. I have gone in the past (and paid out of my own pocket) and we had a fantastic time.
