Kevin Wylie's crooked boss wants to run him out of town, and Kevin's long-time girlfriend is ready to take a hike. He decides that now is the time to leave Miami, visit his father, who he hasn't seen in 28 years, and get some answers. Heading back to his hometown, he doesn't realize that he and his dad will become embroiled in a murder case.

The victim, one of the richest and most-hated corporate criminals in America has been dubbed The Alligator Man since pieces of his clothing were found in a local swamp. Billy Fuller had every reason in the world to want Johnson dead and all the evidence leads right to his doorstep. But legendary trial lawyer Tom Wylie believes in Billy and he and his son reunite to fight the courtroom battle for Billy's life.

The Alligator Man is a story of greed, anger, love, redemption and two powerful trial attorneys who fight to the end-- and risk everything--for the truth.
Jack Tobin, a Florida trial lawyer, is committed to justice for the innocent. But when he's presented with Henry Wilson's case, he's unsure of the convict's innocence. Wilson has eight weeks to live, and Tobin has to decide if he can and will help him.

Benny Avrile is a small-time thief with his eye on an oil man's big billfold. But Benny is way over his head on this one. The robbery goes bad, and the oil man ends up dead. Just when Benny's fate is all but sealed, an old friend from Jack's past reaches out...

The clock is ticking on Henry Wilson's life, the cops are in hot pursuit of Benny, and back at home, there are dark clouds on the horizon for Jack and his beautiful wife, Pat. - See more at: http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/james-sheehan/the-law-of-second-chances/9781455574520/#sthash.mv7pAFhR.dpuf
Jack Tobin is a trial lawyer with a searing-hot reputation in Miami, far removed from his scrappy youth on the streets of New York.

But when a young man, Rudy, is railroaded into a murder conviction in the tiny Florida backwater of Bass Creek, Tobin resolves to pay back a debt to his best friend, the boy who once dubbed him 'the Mayor of Lexington Avenue'.

Heartbreak, tragedy, courtroom drama and the hope of redemption play out in this utterly page-turning, thought-provoking legal thriller. - See more at: http://www.hachettebookgroup.com/titles/james-sheehan/the-mayor-of-lexington-avenue/9781455574544/#desc

It appears I am officially a reviewer of James Sheehan's novels and in that time I have become a huge fan. I have reviewed The Lawyer's Lawyer, The Mayor of Lexington Avenue and The Law of Second Chances previously here at Outnumbered 3 to 1. In The Alligator Man we meet new characters, read about some familiar characters and there is a new trial with another man's life on the line. Another legal thriller that makes courtroom drama more exciting than the real thing!

My Summary
The Florida swamp is a place most dare not go. Alligators have been known to kill people and the people in the small town of Gladestown new this. Roy Johnson, a multimillionaire by screwing over thousands of employees leaving them broke knew about the alligators but didn't care.

Late one night while walking on the main road into town he was hit by a car and thrown into the swamp. With one teenage witness and pile of circumstantial evidence Billy Fuller finds himself the main suspect for first degree murder. Billy lost everything when Roy Johnson took all the money and bailed out of a company that left everyone broke.

Meanwhile Kevin Wylie, a criminal attorney in Miami, is fired from his job by his sketchy boss and now his father he has not seen in 28 years is dying so he decides the timing is right to visit him one last time. Soon thereafter he finds himself as Billy's lawyer and the case has the death penalty on the table.

I enjoyed following a new lawyer who was different from the last few books of Sheehan but yet we still get the familiarity of a few old characters. I thoroughly enjoyed the twists and turns and even though everything was thought out I still could not see what was coming next. His legal thrillers are not to be missed!
