When it comes to toys both my girls have a special love for Play-doh. It’s probably the fun texture they get to squeeze in between their fingers to give them the sensory feeling they love. They will literally spend hours creating out of Play-doh if I let them. Now they they are getting a little older they especially love the playsets that go along with the Play-doh. One of the newer ones is the Play-Doh Cake Mountain Playset and it really caters to my girls’ creative sides and their love of pretend baking.
It includes a base, bottom cake tier, cake machine with cake stand, 6 sticks, 3 cake molds, 2 plates, knife, fork, 2-piece extruder, textured roller, 3 cans of Play-Doh modeling compound, and 2 cans of Play-Doh Plus compound.
There are so many different ways to make cake creations all over this set. At the top you can load different cake molds and press out the shape and pop it out for cute little cakes.
There are little half molds all over the set to make cute cake top decorations.
You can separate the two layers of the cake set to uncover more half molds and more areas to decorate.
It comes with Play-doh plus compound and I will admit that I was out of the loop and had no idea what it was.
It is basically a softer and smoother compound for more detailed decorations. My oldest daughter now prefers the plus over the original. she says she likes the way it feels between her fingers. It did works very well in the icing decorator.
For my almost 6 and almost 3 year old they loved the cake pop mold the best. The candles double as sticks.
The Play-doh Cake Mountain Playset is available at most major toy retailers as well as online at the Hasbro Toy Shop. I really like how Play-doh helps bring out the creative side in us all!
