Nothing says patriotism more than Old Glory, our own American flag. TheFlagShirt.com has captured that patriotism with an exciting line of apparel for men, women & children as well as a variety of accessories and more.
I remember, as a small child, my mother buying me a book telling the story of Betsy Ross and the making of our flag. I can’t tell you how many times I read and re-read that story. It was one of my favorites. I cannot listen to the Star Spangled Banner without getting goose bumps by the end of the song. I once read the story behind the song and it took on even more meaning to me. To know that after all the smoke had cleared our flag still waved, tattered and torn though it was, it still proudly waved and that is what Francis Scott Key saw during a prisoner exchange negotiation from the deck of an enemy ship during the war of 1812. How awe inspiring that must’ve been for him to see and to share with the prisoners to rally their spirits.
That is exactly what our flag does, it rallies our spirits. Since we first became a country it has inspired us to stand tall and proud. Especially during those tragic times such as September 11, 2001. This past Friday we remembered that day with our heads bowed. I will never forget the exact moment when the news came over the radio. I remember it like it was yesterday. This past Friday, when I came into work, Old Glory (as she is so often called) was proudly displayed high above our heads. As the escalator rose higher and higher the flag came into view it was awe inspiring, to say the least.

I chose a beautiful hooded sweatshirt for my husband to wear. The very first photograph that you see is the logo that is on the back of the sweatshirt. It’s absolutely stunning and does a beautiful job of memorializing that day with the Bald Eagle, the colors of our flag and the spotlights shining brightly where the World Trade Towers once stood.
| My husband Jeff at Shawano Lake in WI |
This past weekend my husband and I were invited to Shawano to celebrate my best friend’s birthday. As I stated earlier, I couldn’t have picked a more appropriate time for Jeff to wear this sweatshirt. Not only were we remembering September 11th and showing our patriotism but it was also very chilly so it kept Jeff warm all day long while I took pictures at the various places we stopped at through our days adventures.
One of our last stops was a local bar for a fun night of drinks, pool and good times with good friends. Immediately upon entering, one of the gentlemen at the bar wanted to know more about this sweatshirt and where he could get one. Needless to say I was very excited about this and shared the web address with him.
September 11th isn’t the only day we celebrate our patriotism. There’s our nation’s birthday, July 4th, there’s Veteran’s Day and Memorial Day when we remember the fallen who fought so hard for our country as well as the heroes who made it home to tell their stories. We celebrate our flag every day in so many ways. As a sign of respect, hats are always removed in the presence of our flag and respected it is!
The sweatshirt not only kept Jeff warm all day, it was comfortable and very roomy. It also held up well in the washing machine and dryer with only a tiny bit of shrinking. It was still roomy, held it’s shape great and looked great on my husband. Check out TheFlagShop.com and see the many beautiful items that they have created to honor our flag, our country and our fallen heroes.
